Sticking to the "Code"

Something that stood out to me in the "Guy Code" is  the "Real Guy's Top Ten List". 1. Boys don't cry", 2. "It's better to be mad than sad", 3. "Don't get mad get even", 4. "Take it like a man", %. He who has the most toys when he dies, win." 6. "Just do it" or "Ride or Die". 7. "Size Matters". 8. "I don't stop to ask for directions". 9. "Nice guys finish last" and 10. "It's all good". To me, most of these statements is the reason most guys today stay in so much trouble. Trying to get even with the next guy and they end up doing something bad. They tell them to "Take it like a man", when they get hurt I know some of them wants to express the way they are feeling but since they have other guys around them they don't want to embarrass themselves and cry or anything. When a man shows his emotions it means that he is showing his weakness and he should be this "strong man" at all times. which isn't fair.

One time my brothers and male cousins were bike riding. My brother had someone on the handle bars which made it difficult for him to stop the bike using it's brakes, so he ended up crashing into one of my cousins bikes and he flew off of the bike which later landed on him. He was screaming crying in pain and all of the guys thought it was kind of funny for him to be crying so they told him to "suck it up" because he was a boy. Not knowing he had broken his leg and had to be rushed to the hospital. He had surgery on his leg and they put a cast on it so he had to walk around with crutches for a few months. I felt really bad for him.

The "guy code" is sometimes ridiculous to me just for the simple fact that, guys are human too, they have feelings and just because they show them it makes them a "punk" or "wimp" or "sissy". It isn't fair that they have to hold everything in. I understand that what it's only making them stronger as boys to men but sometimes they should get a little leeway. They shouldn't always have to feel like their trapped in box, just  because they're males.
